Jubilee Court
Who do we help?
Jubilee Court is a specialist scheme in Dartford & Gravesham which offers support and accommodation to teenage parents and young women.
The service supports vulnerable parents between 16 and 25 (with a priority on 16-19 year olds) who are experiencing housing need. It supports people who want to develop and improve their ability to live independently.
About the service
Our scheme can support 7 young parents at any one time and residents stay for up to two years. At the end of the two years people are helped to make the move into independent accommodation in the local area. They can be referred to other services to receive resettlement support in order to help this transition.
Jubilee Court consists of 7 one bedroom self contained flats with a communal hallway and gardens.
Each resident has a support worker who they meet with regularly. How often this is depends on the individual and their needs. This is worked out and agreed at the beginning of the service and regularly reviewed.
Outside of these support visits, residents can contact in touch Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm to receive extra advice or support and there is an out of hours emergency service if needed.
We maintain good links with specialist services in the area such as sexual health advisors, specialist education support, health visitors & midwives in order to provide extra, more specialist support. We can also access specialist courses for young parents.
We work with people to identify their needs and to find ways to achieve their goals. The support can focus on things like housing, health, money and community activities. This is agreed in a Personal Development Plan, which we regularly review with service users.
What next?
The support received at Jubilee Court will not cost you anything as it is paid for by the Supporting People Team at the Gravesham & Dartford Borough Councils.
