Maidstone Recovery Service
Who do we help?
The Maidstone Recovery Service is a specialist scheme which offers support and accommodation to four adults with ongoing mental health issues within Maidstone. They are encouraged to develop and improve their ability to live independently.
About the service
Residents live in accommodation owned by Hyde Housing Association. When the service comes to an end after two years, Hyde are informed that there is a vacancy. In touch then asks Kent Mental Health Team to nominate someone with ongoing mental health issues who requires housing. When the new vacancy is filled in touch will then provide support to the new tenant for another two years.
We operate from Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm. If you receive support from us you will meet with your support worker on a regular basis, depending on your individual needs. This is agreed at the beginning of the service and regularly reviewed.
We maintain good links with specialist mental health services in the area in order to provide extra, more specialist support.
We work with people to identify their needs and to find ways to achieve their goals. The support can focus on things like housing, health, money and community activities. This is agreed in a Personal Development Plan, which we regularly review with service users.
What next?
The support received by this service will not cost you anything as it is paid for by the Mental Health Team at Kent County Council.
