Kent Generic Floating Support
Who do we help?
The Kent Generic Support Service offers support to people living within the Ashford, Maidstone, Shepway, Dartford and Gravesend areas.
The service supports people over the age of 16 and is aimed at those who are experiencing a range of problems accessing or maintaining accommodation in their local community. It supports service users who want to develop and improve the ability to live independently.
About the service
Our service supports up to 65 people at any one time and lasts for a maximum of 2 years. We operate a waiting list for this service which is run on a priority need basis.
We operate from Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm. If you receive support from us you will meet with your support worker on a regular basis, depending on the individuals needs. This is agreed at the beginning of the service and regularly reviewed.
We can work with people regardless of what kind of accommodation they live in for example council accommodation, private rented, housing association or even if the person is homeless.
We work with people to identify their needs and to find ways to achieve their goals. The support can focus on things like housing, health, money and community activities. This is agreed in a Personal Development Plan, which we regularly review with service users.
What next?
You will not have to pay anything for this service as it is paid for by the Supporting People Team at Kent & Medway District Councils.
