Essex Holistic Floating Support
Who do we help?
The Essex Holistic Floating Support Service offers support to people living within the Chelmsford, Uttlesford, Harlow, Brentwood and Epping District Council areas.
The service supports people over the age of 16 and is aimed at those who are experiencing problems accessing or maintaining accommodation in their local community. It also encourages service users to develop and improve the ability to live independently.
About the service
Our service supports up to 377 people at any one time and is a short term service of up to two years. Within this time we are able to work with people if they are in immediate need and we can provide a more intensive period of support in the beginning. We operate a waiting list but people are given priority need if there is a risk of immediate loss of their accommodation.
We operate from Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.30pm with an on call service for emergencies from 5.30pm to 9.00am. If you receive support from us you will regularly meet with your support worker depending on your own individual needs, which is agreed at the beginning of the service and regularly reviewed.
Support workers can help with a wide range of areas including things like housing, health & money, resulting in completing an individual Personal Development Plan. This is based on how the service user feels and what areas they would like support with.
We can work with people regardless of what kind of accommodation they live in for example council accommodation, private rented, housing association or even if the person is homeless.
